Welcome to the Gowrie Western Australia. The Gowrie WA was established in 1940 as a demonstration model for excellence in childcare integrated with effective community development. The Gowrie has grown to offer a range of services for children, families & communities. In addition to our two community based childcare centres, we offer individual and group support through consultative based solutions that are community led and developed.
These services inlcude:
Childcare, Settlement Services, Counselling, Nutrition and other Community Based Programs.

CHILDCARE The Lady Gowrie Child Care services have a long and proud history and commitment in servicing the needs of children, families and the community in Western Australia.
Our philosophical base reflects the current trends in caring for children in the early years. The Early Years research continues to add to our knowledge base and is reflected in the training of our staff to improve the quality of care for children.
We love kids, we love seeing them grow and that's why we do it. Come and visit a centre and join the fun!
Our Childcare Programs are underpinned by Attachment theories where the pattern of relationship enables a Primary Caregiver to foster secure attachments with the children and to build strong partnerships with parents.
Both of our Childcare Centres have qualified, professional staff leading the programs which have an emphasis on child centered learning & relationships.
Kids can enjoy indoor and outdoor play, creative play, quiet time and story time.
EARLY YEARS EARLY YEARS LEARNING FRAMEWORK
With the introduction of the EYLF, staff from Gowrie centres across Australia have been working together in a project to review the range of possibilities for ways of approaching our assessment. Our work has led to the development of a resource - "Assessment in the Early Years: A resource from Gowrie Australia drawing on the Early Years Learning Framework".
The introduction to the resource is published here to provide an insight to Gowrie Australia's position and information about the process of developing the resource. We hope it will be a valued contribution to support educators across all service types to embrace using EYLF.

COUNSELLING 
Community Programs
Gowrie Community Services offers a range of workshops for members of the community. From Scrap Booking to Art Therapy, Parenting Support Groups, Sewing and Men's Groups, if you would like more information about participating or contributing please contact the Gowrie.

Family Support/Counsellor
Lynne provides counselling services for families, couples, youth and individuals. She also has educational group work that further supports ongoing personal development. For example Art Therapy, Wellness Program, Mind/Body/Life Workshops, so please call our Cloverdale office to make an appointment.

Settlement Grants Program
In Belmont and Gosnells the Gowrie provides a range of services to new migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants to assist with settling into a new country and community. Isabella can provide information about schools, childcare, employment and more. There are group activities and workshops so call the Gowrie for what's on.

LEEMING Leeming Family Centre
This is a community facility that is available as a venue for hire by community groups or individuals to run a wide range of activities. The rooms are used for regular meetings or on a casual basis and are available for hire seven days a week from 8:00am - 10:30pm. The centre is supported by the Department for Communities and is managed by Gowrie. Playgroups, a Toy Library, Community Band, 3 Year Old Kindergarten, School tuition groups and Adult Learning groups currently operate from the centre.

Hire charges start from $50 per 4 hours plus bond (subject to change) and bookings can be made by contacting the Customer Service Officer on 9310 5855
