Community Settlement Support Services

The Gowrie provides a range of services to new migrants, refugees and humanitarian entrants to assist with settling into a new country and community.  The services provided may include:

  • Information about schools, childcare or work
  • Assistance with understanding government departments and your entitlement to benefits
  • Explaining and contacting other services that are available that may be of assistance to you Providing groups that offer the opportunity to establish new friendships and to meet other local people in your community.

Refugee Youth Settlement Program

Refugee young people face a number of challenges when beginning a new life in Australia. The Refugee Youth Settlement Program provides support for refugee young people (12-20 years).  This may include assistance to:

  • Access mainstream and community services
  • Find employment
  • Access education and training opportunities
  • Understand rights and responsibilities
  • Making community links
  • Life skills development
Homework Support Group - Every Sat from 2:00 - 4:00pm during the school term at the Cloverdale Head Office.  Students can access support from volunteer tutors to complete their homework and prepare for exams.

Multicultural Supported Playgroups

Located at Carlisle Primary School and Gosnells Lotteries House.  Please contact the office for more information.
